The content of this text is planned for concurrent teaching and learning, with the subject matter divided into four units: the preparatory phase and the period of pregnancy, the period of parturition, the post-partum period, and the neonate.With an intensive period of study, the prenatal units can be completed in one week. With completion of Chapter 10, the student is ready for a most valuable learning experience, that of counseling and teaching in the clinic.
