This revised, updated edition of Moser - Artistry in Glass contains chapters from the first book, additional text on post-WWII production, the historical development of Moser's decorative styles, updated information on factory marks, and careful identification of similar products made by Loetz, Webb & Sons, Riedel and other firms. The ten chapters of narrative are thoroughly detailed and well written, covering Karlsbad's historical position as a central glassmaking city, and revealing how the firm has remained established, even beyond WWII and the collapse of Communism. There is splendid black and white photography - not previously shown - illustrating all kinds of the classical and figural motifs in which Moser specialized. Also present is an expanded 80-page section of color featuring new pieces not shown or identified in the first book. These color pages reflect an impressive Bohemian and Czechoslovakian repertoire (including cameo-frieze, intaglio-cut, rare-earth doped, enameled and engraved), shown at a large enough size for readers to view their intricate detail. Includes 1997-98 value guide.
