This 2003 edition includes a selection of more than 5000 individual objects, illustrated in over 300 categories of the American antique collecting field. The objects covered date from colonial times to the mid-1950s and range from the relatively common to the rare, with the emphasis placed on what is available to the average collector. The format is designed to provide an accurate market value of items sold at auction from January through December 2001. Entries are keyed to the auction gallery where an item was sold; the month it was sold as well as the state abbreviation have been included due to regional variations across the country.
