The Flash: "A Nightmare to Remember!": During a visit to Earth-Two, the Flash becomes trapped in a nightmare-world designed for the other Flash by the Wizard Deadman: "The Canvas Inferno!": The gunman who shot Cleveland Brand proves to be a minion of the mysterious magnate, Mr. Solomon, who sends his personal lawyer, Winchell, to try (unsuccessfully) to persuade Lorna Hill to sell the circus to Solomon. Rebuffed, Solomon tries to burn down the circus tent, and only Deadman (in Cleve's body) and Tiny manage to save Lita Brand and Vashnu. In the meantime, Alexi Kronsky, Inga Brand's father, a Russian scientist held captive by Solomon, overpowers his guard and attempts an escape. New Gods: "Pursuit to Eternity": Highfather tries but fails to best Darkseid in battle. The master of Apokolips, protected by Anti-Life and the Omega Force, heads past the Promethean Giants, seeking to breach the Great Barrier and reach the Source. However, Highfather tells Orion that Darkseid will not be able to battle him and open the Source at the same time. Thus, by fighting Darkseid, Orion shatters his Omega Force and throws his father into the barrier without protection, turning him into a Promethean Giant. On Earth, the Antagonist is destroyed when Metron causes the six humans to unite their will with a Mother Box. When Darkseid, as a Promethean Giant, hurtles towards Apokolips, Desaad unwittingly destroys him with a defense weapon. Aquaman: "The Hunt": Aquaman is called in to bring down Colin Landau, a big-game hunter who has taken to slaughtering whales and other sea life outside the legal limit for land authorities. Landau nonetheless tries to bag a whale, but, despite Aquaman's efforts to save him, dies trying. Green Lantern: "Deadly Song Of the Wizard!": Green Lantern, while searching for his lost power battery, is trapped by an old enemy. Wonder Woman: "The Quest for the Stolen Soul!": Steve Trevor (aka “Steve Howard”) has died, and Wonder Woman asks Aphrodite to bring him back to life again. She refuses. Wonder Woman says that she will take matters into her own hands and uses her magic lasso to create a portal into the Land of the Dead, which is ruled by Pluto. There she battles the minions of the lord of death, and tries to bargain with him, offering her soul for Steve Trevor's life. Pluto refuses, and keeps the attacks coming, saying she will eventually weaken and die. When she eventually refuses to even put up a fight, he angrily says that he cannot bargain with her, as he doesn't have Trevor's soul. Worse, Wonder Woman feels life departing from her body. At that point, a small spirit which appears to be Steve Trevor's soul appears and guides Wonder Woman's essence back to her body. Once there, Wonder Woman learns from Aphrodite that Zeus has taken Steve's soul and put it among the stars. Wonder Woman resigns herself to Steve's fate, knowing his love will be with her forever.
