Shadowpact

Thus far, the Shadowpact has avoided the fate of all other groups that have taken the name, that fate being to take up hopeless causes, resulting in the team's death. They have fought the Spectre to a stand-still, and even managed to hault Etrigan the demon, so it's understandable that the team might think that they've overcome their own shaky start. But even as the team battles a reawakend god in Louisiana, forces are aligning against them across the globe. Karnevil, one of the captive members of the Pentacle and a vicious and brilliant sociopath, has escaped the custody of Lord Colddrake. The enigmatic Dr. Gotham, whom the Pentacle served, has succeeded where his minions failed in conjuring his deity, The Sun King into our world. And Zauriel, God's angel turned hero, has been dispatched with the grim task of bringing death to the Blue Devil.
