As the Blackest Night envelops the universe, Hal Jordan accompanies Indigo-1 as she attempts to gather representatives of the different Lantern Corps. Having already united Sinestro, Carol and Saint Walker, they travel to Okaara where Atrocitus struggles to wrest the Orange Lantern from Larfleeze. But the pair quickly find themselves attacked by the Black Lanterns of all that Larfleeze has killed in defense of his treasures.
