Plot

Through objects, images, and texts, Jason Dodge skillfully combines the fictive and the real, inviting us into a world of interrupted and elusive narratives. In each of his carefully executed installations, a distant locale or notable event is evoked along with characters both real and imagined. Each work seems to suggest a larger enigmatic story, leading ultimately to a narrative of our invention, sparked by Dodge's compelling objects. Jason Dodge's exhibition is a companion to a recent installation at the Villa Arson in Nice, France. On the occasion of these two installations, the Orange County Museum of Art published this catalogue in collaboration with Villa Arson, available in September 2005. Jason Dodge was born in 1969 in Newton, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in Berlin, Germany. As seen at the Orange County Museum of Art June 4, 2005 through September 25, 2005.
