"Our goal is to chronicle the lives of these men from their enlistment in the 7th Mississippi Volunteers through the ultimate surrender in North Carolina or Alabama as members of the Ninth Mississippi Consolidated Infantry. The history is a compilation of official records, diaries, letters, and family recollections about these men and their families and friends back home that the referred to as 'the connections.' As a great grandson, cousin and nephew of one of their 'mess mates' in the 'High Pressure Brigade' I will share stories of love, fear, humor, determination, bravery, tragedy, death, and survival. ...
