case studies in anthropology
This ethnographic case book is an inexpensive shrinkwrap to supplement Anthropology, 7/e, (the cultures covered are all in Kottak's text), or on its own to supplement any number of introductory/cultural anthropology courses where individual ethnography's are too detailed. The text includes coverage of thirteen different cultures (approximately 15 pages on each). The format of each culture study is generally as follows: a map places the culture in geographical context; a creation myth introduces the culture; a general introduction and history of the people follows; a socio-political analysis and/or an economic analysis is discussed; and their religious/belief-systems are examined.
