McClain approaches Romans from a double perspective. He breaks the text down as first, justification; second, faith; and third, life. From another perspective is the theme--"I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ" (Ro 1:16). In further development of this double perspective, McClain breaks the epistle down into the following areas: Condemnation--The Wrath of God Revealed; Salvation--The Righteousness of God Revealed; Vindication--The Wisdom of God Revealed; Exhortation--The will of God Revealed.
