a study of Luke 22:24-30
This work, contrary to many tradition-critical studies, demonstrates a Lukan unitary conception for Luke 22:24-30. The author argues that the pericope is unified by its overarching, full-circle reversal form (the great are to serve; loyal 'servants' will be 'great'), a pervasive interest in authority which challenges conventional ideas of power and greatness, and a keen concern for the solidarity of the apostles with Jesus. The literary, unified achievement in 22:24-30 provides a point of reference for Luke's thought and theology, especially in the areas of eschatology and ecclesiology.
