There is a need for us as Christians, as missionaries, as sending agencies and as the Church to take another look at our response to the needs in other parts of the world and even in our own communities. This book hopes to create an understanding that unless the response is well thought out, done with and identified by the people who are affected by the issue and not for them, and done in a manner that will not create dependency, it may be better to do nothing at all. This book outlines appropriate ways of responding that will be both effective, sustainable, and give outlet for the amazing generosity of spirit that God does want and implore His followers to demonstrate --from preface.
