In this perceptive book nine theological concepts are carefully traced through the Old Testament--monotheism, God's sovereignty, election, the covenant, theocracy, the law, sacrifice, faith, and redemption. Although some of these are commonly accepted as New Testament concepts, Dr. Youngblood shows that in total they comprise the heart of the Old Testament and are fulfilled by Christ in the New, thereby showing that the Bible is a whole, each book complementing the order. He describes the cultural setting in which each concept arose in ancient Israel, delineates the various stages through which God's people passed as they grew in their understanding of it, and discussed the particular fulfillment of each.
