James Gordon gets word that a member of his old Naval Intelligence unit needs help and leaves Gotham; as he leaves Gotham, he is replaced by a Manhunter doppelganger (who is defeated by Batman in the pages of Millenium); Batman follows a lead on the Manhunters to Belle Reve LA, where Gordon has also gone; Gordon meets his old NI colleague who starts to warn of the Manhunter invasion, but is then attacked by a Manhunter before Batman comes to the rescue; as Gordon's friend lays dying, he says the White House needs to be warned; Batman meets Jim Corrigan and they head into the swamp to find human hostages; Corrigan finds the hostages in the Manhunter stronghold and frees them, while Batman runs into Karin Grace bringing in a bomb to destroy the compound; Batman, Corrigan and the hostages escape as the bomb explodes; President Reagen is phoned about snow in Louisiana and it is revealed that Nancy Reagan is a Manhunter.
