The DC Universe has had to survive for 24 weeks without it's brightest heroes. But almost half-way through the missing year, the Justice League is rising again. Flamebird and Firestorm are gathering would-be heroes to them in the name of the League.The Martian Manhunter has worked hard these past months to try to avenge Ted Kord's death. Using a number of guises in the US Government, he's been pushing the President to disband the Checkmate organization. But after his success, a metahuman disaster caused by citizens participating in Luthor's Everyman program resurrects the organization with a UN charter and a mission to monitor and police metahuman activity.
