Plot

Mainly a history of Engelbert F. Folda (1866-1944), his wife, Alma Letitia Woods, their two children, and their experiences on Horseshoe Island, also known as Eagle Island, or as they called it "Engelmar" (now part of the Peninsula State Park). The island is off the coast of Ephraim, Door County, Wisconsin. Engelbert's father, Frank, purchased the island for $500.00 in 1888 and it became a family vacation spot. The book also includes history of the island.
