Plot

Young Paul (Ungerleider) Kessler was living a happy life in Vranov, Czechoslovakia when WWII started in Europe. Life changed dramatically for him and his family members who had to leave their homes and businesses to go into hiding from the Nazis. Five-year-old Paul and his mother feared for their lives and hid underground. This amazing story tells how the bravery of a Christian family helped save two Jewish lives. Young author, Lara Fulgham, and artist, Olivia Kurtzeborn-Sowell, did an outstanding job of storytelling and preserving this story for the next generation.
