This report has been issued to expose and counter those who deny and distort the Holocaust, and to illustrate the continuing need for effective education on the subject. For it is crucial to preserve the memory of these events, even as they recede into the past, in order to inform the moral challenges that humankind still faces - as in the recurrent neo-Nazi violence in Germany, as well as reports of atrocities and "ethnic cleansing" in Bosnia - and to prevent any such horror from ever occurring again.
