Star-Spangled Kid and Billy Batson are in the Shadowlands, in a nightmare version of New York that is Sentinel's worst nightmare. They find themselves fighting a version of Thorn, the mother of Jade and Obsidian. Hector Hall is having a cookout with former people that were Dr. Fate, learning how he had been tricked by Mordru and what he needs to do to defeat Mordru and get his power back.After driving off Thorn, Star and Billy search for Alan Scott, finally going to the torch of the Statue of Liberty, finding Shade holding his lifeless body.
