Major showdown with the princes of darkness. Aire Wave and Flash race around the world, disarming Kobra cult members trying to hasten the end of the world. Alex Montez has possessed and taken control of Eclipso in New York, using the black diamond to return the moon to its regular orbit. Captain Marvel, Hawkman, and Star-Spangled Kid try to keep Obsidian busy while Jade tries to revive her father, Sentinel, in LA. Dr. Mid-Nite manages to give Jakeem back the use of his voice, while Hawkgirl, Dove, and Power Girl find the soul of Arion in a vault on Gemworld.Arion weakens Mordru slightly as he passes beyond, but it takes Jakeem and Thunderbolt to imprison him for a time in Jakeem's pen. Flash then races the Starheart to LA, returning it to Alan Scott in the form of a ring. He then apparently burns the Shadowlands out of Obsidian, ending the threat there.In New York, Sand recovers from the control of Mordru just in time to dive into the earth and prevent massive earthquakes caused by the changes in the lunar orbit. Just as everyone thinks it is over, Mordru breaks free of Johnny Thunderbolt and the pen, still immensely powerful. But he is surprised by the appearance from Nabu's amulet of Dr. Fate.
