Wendi Tyler is receiving late night calls from Rex, the husband she thinks is dead. The members of the JSA have been awake for several days, unable to sleep and having nightmares when they try. The members are continuing to function as best they can, when there is a sudden earthquake that leaves the initials JSA in front of their brownstone.Dr. Fate and Fury have to journey into the amulet in order to put down a rebellion by Nabu, but his powers are stripped and spread to the other residents of the amulet. When they return to Dr. Fate's tower, they are contacted by someone in a mirror who tells them that a friend needs help.In front of the brownstone, the JSA has called in Cave Carson and his team, and they are preparing to use his Mighty Mole to journey to the epicenter of the quake. They are joined by Dr. Fate and Fury, who bring Brainwave with them. Sand's astral form has been seperated from his physical body, and Brainwave and Dr. Fate will have to help part of the team enter the Dream in order to free it. The rest of the team will head down to find his body.Underground, the Mighty Mole is surrounded by a number of beings as it reaches the epicenter of the quake. In the Dream, the heroes find a field of flowers that lead to a sandcastle in the distance. As they approach it, they are confronted by Sandman.
