Cable's dream, and his island nation of Providence have been irrevocably shattered. In less than two days, the pieces of Providence, which once made up his futuristic ship, will sink once more to the ocean floor. He plans to use that time to encrypt all of the information held in Providence's datacore to prevent his detailed account of the future, as well as it's technology, from falling into the wrong hands. But the wrong hands are already on Providence, watching him.
