The League debate the involvement of Doctor Light, Booster Gold and Maxwell Lord as the three of them wait impatiently. Light, realises that Lord is manipulative, quits before Batman and the others speak to them. Annoyed by Lord's arrogance, Booster, too, decides to leave the League's headquarters. Outside, the Royal Flush Gang manage to break through the League's perimeter fence and, as the League watch on their monitors, Gold discovers the Gang. A new force field is activated in place of the fence, effectively trapping Booster in with the Gang and they battle it out until he has dispatched all of them except the gigantic android Ace. Realising the danger, Batman orders the League to intervene but they are almost defeated before Booster and Blue Beetle team up to destroy Ace. As Booster is formally welcomed to the League, Maxwell Lord greets the press, calling himself the official liaison.
