Toby Morgan (Matthew Harbour) is a young and lonely boy who is forced to follow his father's wish for him to spend time with his strict grandmother during the holiday season since he is too busy to look after Toby by himself. His presence at his grandmother's house is about to change his life forever upon discovering an unforgotten stuffed velveteen rabbit toy in the attic where his late mom had left for him as a special gift before she dies. His amazing animated fantasy adventures comes to life when unexpectedly his tears has caused the transformation of the stuffed toy to a lively and playful rabbit. Toby later learns that rabbit has a wish to become a real rabbit one day while Toby too has his own wish to have a loving and happy family like he has always dreamed of. Together with the help of Swan (Ellen Burstyn) and Horse (Tom Skerritt), both Toby and rabbit's wishes finally come true.
