Lazer's plan to manipulate mutants through Johnny Dee is working well, instigating all sorts of rioting and fighting. Things intially seem to be going well for him, but Val Cooper is one of the people who knows this group well enough to spot psychic manipulation when she sees it. That seems much less important, however, than the knowledge that Lazer has initiated a self-destruct sequence within the bunker that houses the 198.
