This ingenious piece of apparatus was designed to catch money in
the air. Take a U.S. half dollar and place it in the small clip (see cut).
Now place the apparatus between the first and second fingers,
letting coin swing down, your other fingers concealing it. When you
wish to produce a coin, give the wrist or hand a little twist upward
and the coin will fly up; your thumb follows it up and holds it there,
in full view. You now pass your left hand over the coin apparently
taking it away but under cover of your left hand let the coin drop
back out of sight. Although simple, it is very effective.
