P&L Phantom Cube With Stand

From The P&L Book:

The performer passes for thorough inspection, a red cube three
inches square with white spots which is made to represent a die.

A metal case which is open on top and four sides, and is made
just large enough to nicely accomodate the cube. The cube is
now placed in the case and place on top of a borrowed hat, and
a borrowe handkerchief is placed over same. Now upon command,
the handkerchief is lifted and to the astonishment of all, the cube
has passed through the case, and is found under the hat.
