Volume 3: Dobson's Choice
Those who enjoy learning practical material are going to absolutely love Volume III. These are practical, professional routines that have been honed and refined in front of real audiences of all sizes. To put it simply, this is a book of workers. There are stand-up pieces like “Total Recall”, Wayne’s unique take on the Magic Square routine, and “Shopping List”, an impossible, hilarious, and entertaining 10-minute prediction routine filled with a surprising wine bottle production kicker they’ll never see coming. Wayne also includes his close-up classics like “3Sixty” and “Lucky Dip”, the trick that fooled Derren Brown (who also wrote the foreword) and immediately became one of the legendary mentalist’s favorite go-to tricks to perform.
You’ll also get detailed instructions for creating props that are either unavailable or extremely difficult to purchase.

Wayne Dobson (b.1957-d.2025) became the youngest-ever member of the Leicester Magic Circle at the age of 16.
Biography
David Nixon, Pat Page, Roy Johnson and Ken Brooke had great influences on his development in magic; he was also largely inspired by Dai Vernon. [1] [2] [3]
In 1977 he was a joint first prize winner in the close-up competition at the IBM British Ring Convention which led to his television debut on BBC TV's Blue Peter. At just 21 he decided to become a professional magician. A run of tours in USA with some of the UK's top performers was a tremendous success.
Back in Britain in 1989 he was chosen to appear before HM Queen Elizabeth in the Royal Variety Show at the London Palladium.
In 1988 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which by the mid-1990s forced him into semi-retirement.
In 1998 he was awarded the 'David Berglas Award' for Outstanding Contribution to Magic by the British Magical Society. In 2004 he was awarded the ‘Maskelyne’, the highest award in the world of magic, for outstanding individual achievement by The Magic Circle. He was an Honorary Vice President of both The Magic Circle and The British Magical Society.
In 2005 he married Marianne, together they ran DTrick, featuring Wayne's range of magic products. Wayne continued to perform, and also lectured at magic clubs, at home and abroad.
