The pope denied his request – Henry had himself declared head of the church in order to marry Anne Boleyn

Tyndale attended Oxford and Cambridge
Tyndale became a devout Bible student at Cambridge and became a tutor in the home of Nobleman John Walsh in Gloucestershire
Tyndale in Sudbury
He taught the children of the Walsh’s and preached in the church in Sudbury
Here he became controversial for his outspoken views and writings
Tyndale fled to Europe
