• James 4:13-14 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

• DESERT or OASIS ?
• For some, your life was more like a spiritual desert…
• For others, your life has been more like an oasis…
• You have found the Lord …
• Is it well with MY soul?
• Is my life a desert or an oasis …
• God’s promise …
• Psalms 107:33-38 He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground; 34 A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
• 35 He turns a wilderness into pools of water, And dry land into watersprings. 36 There He makes the hungry dwell, That they may establish a city for a dwelling place, 37 And sow fields and plant vineyards,That they may yield a fruitful harvest. 38 He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly;

• CHALLENGE for this New Year - Apply this …
• Turn rivers of empty pretense into a desert that I may learn how to rely upon You …
• I know that only You are able to turn my desert into an abundant spring of water …

• Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

• DARE to be TRANSFORMED
• DISCERNMENT …
– 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may (discern) what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

• DARE to be TRANSFORMED
• DISCERNMENT .. what is the will of God?
• ADOPTION … adopt God’s will for my own…
• RENEWAL … out with the old, in with the new
• ENGAGEMENT … live for Him, every day, everywhere I go …
