Superbook (2009)
Superbook teaches children timeless moral truths and life lessons through the captivating, Bible-based adventures of two time-traveling children and their robot friend. The familiar and the futuristic interact with ancient people, places and events to create a sense of wonder, anticipation, empowerment, and personal breakthrough as the children witness God's interaction with man. Superbook is always an exciting journey, full of discovery - with a transformational outcome.
Chris accidentally burns down his family’s home and he is sure that there is no forgiveness for something this big! Superbook then takes Chris, Joy and Gizmo to witness the end of days and through this experience, he discovers the greatness of God’s forgiveness and restoration. Lesson: God’s forgiveness has made it possible for all of us to be saved.
Superbook transports Chris back to ancient Egypt. Chris, Gizmo, and Joy travel with Joseph through several trials and triumphs. in all of their journeys, Joseph continues to trust in God. After witnessing God take Joseph from the pit to the palace, Chris realizes the value of trusting in God’s plans. Lesson: Trust God. He has a plan for you, even if you don’t see that plan

At school, Joy is not getting along with Becky. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time where Israeli spies team up with Rahab. Joy learns that those who seem like enemies can get along and find common ground. Lesson: When you get to know your enemies, you can sometimes find common ground.
At school, Joy has to choose between standing up for Bonnie or going with the crowd. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when Queen Esther chooses to stand up for the Israelite people. This encourages Joy when she faces Janice and the Girl’s Leadership Club. Lesson: Be (brave and) ready to do good things. Be the best/greatest for the benefit of others.
At home, Chris has to choose between playing stolen games or deleting them. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when John the Baptizer chooses to live truthfully and point others to Jesus. This encourages Chris when he returns to face Sam. Lesson: Live truthfully and point others to Jesus
At a disaster relief effort, Joy has to choose between finishing her mission or giving up. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when Paul chooses to focus on his mission, no matter the circumstances. This encourages Joy when she returns to face her relief project. Lesson: Focus on the goal and the mission, no matter your fear, circumstances or distractions.
During the worst week of his life, Chris loses his Grandpa. He feels as if he cannot go on. He wants to give up on doing what is right. Suddenly, Superbook sends Chris, Joy, and Gzmo to a time when Job is tested by Satan. Lesson: Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up. Unconditional loyalty to God is eventually rewarded.
During school hours, Joy and Chris have to choose between skipping school with a bad crowd or rejecting Pearce’s dangerous influence. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when the world was fraught with evil. This encourages Joy and Chris to reject Pearce’s dangerous influence. Lesson: God does not always protect us from trouble but cares for us in spite of trouble.
When Joy is called to leadership in a difficult situation, she has to chose between taking the challenge or running scared. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when Gideon overcomes a difficult battle with the Midianites. This encourages Joy to walk with God and conquer the task at hand. Lesson: “God can use anyone who is willing.”
While hanging with the cool kids, Chris has to chooses to ignore his friendship with the less cool Joy. Suddenly, Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when Peter denies Jesus three times. This helps Chris understand the value of true friendship. ~ Luke 22:32 Lesson: You can find forgiveness and restoration with friends no matter how big your mistake.
Justin gets in trouble with his father. He hides. Chris begins to wonder if what Justin did can be forgiven. Superbook sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to a time when Jesus tells stories. One story shows us that no matter what we do, God will always accept us back into His family with open arms when we say we are sorry. Luke 15:18 Lesson: God (or just a loving father) is always ready to forgive.
Chris and Joy struggle to communicate with a new student in their school who just moved from India. Suddenly Superbook takes Chris, Joy and Gizmo back in time when God created multiple languages. Genesis 11:9 Lesson: “Working together you can accomplish great things”
