Christians who head a vast complex of Christian organizations, supervise a small work crew, or teach a Sunday school class all face the same challenge—that of being Christian leaders, examples for others to follow. In this book Dr. Hudson T. Armerding examines basic biblical guidelines for leadership. Drawing from the lives of such giants as Abraham, Moses, Solomon, and Peter, he not only paints a panorama of Christian leadership, but sketches specific practical applications of scriptural principles as well. Central to the discussion is a strong emphasis on growth and triumph in the leader's personal life, without which there can be no "exampling" and thus no leading. Dr. Armerding is himself a highly respected Christian leader and administrator. A past president of the National Association of Evangelicals and of the World Evangelical Fellowship, he has been the president of Wheaton (Ill.) College since 1965. He has also been a U.S. Navy officer, a pastor, and a college dean.
