Plot

When Gabby Winslow's parents die in a shipwreck, she moves from England to the Netherlands to live with her aunt and uncle. After she graduates from college, she goes to medical school and eventually becomes a doctor, working at a hospital in Amsterdam. Gabby's uncle Dalton is a brilliant physicist who is wooed by the German government to move to Berlin and develop the weapon of the future. As Hitler steadily becomes more powerful. Dalton finally realizes that the dictator is contributing to the ruin of Dalton's own native land. He and his wife are desperate to get out of Germany, but the Nazis refuse to let them leave. The situation gets complicated when a special agent from England arrives to help get Gabby's uncle out of the country. Can he be trusted?
