"We Were Soldiers Once, and Young," is a movie based off the bestselling book by Harold G. Moore and Joseph L. Galloway. The movie stars commander Lt. Col. Moore (Mel Gibson), leading his troops of young soldiers into battle against the Viet Cong. While both sides (American and Vietnam) claimed the battle as a victory, the sacrifices made by the American soldiers are shown to be heart wrenching. The horror of war is made clear, and the movie shows the devastation that losing soldiers causes to those on the home front.
