"Big" is the story of a 13 year old boy, Josh Baskin (David Moscow), who makes a wish and finds himself transformed into a man (Tom Hanks) overnight. 13 year old Josh feels overlooked by girls because of his nerdiness and height. One night at a carnival in his hometown he encounters a mysterious machine that lets people make one wish. He puts in his money and makes his wish - to be "big". The next morning he wakes up to discover he has grown overnight from a 13-year-old to a man of 30. Bewildered, Josh terrifies his mother before fleeing. With the help of his best friend, 13 year old Billy (Jared Rushton), Josh goes to New York City to experience life as an adult and figure out how to return himself to his former age. He learns what it means to be a grownup, and also that it's best to remain a kid for as long as he's supposed to.
