Andreas (Anders W. Berthelsen) is a single pastor assigned to work in a small Danish town. He is recruited for the local Italian language class, which also includes the local hotel's receptionist, Hal-Finn (Lars Kaalund) who is in love with an Italian woman but is afraid to tell her, Olympia (Anette Støvelbæk) who uses the class as excuse to get away from her demanding mother, and Carmen (Ann Eleonora Jørgensen) who has a similar problem with her alcoholic mom. After both women lose their parents, they accidentally discover that they are sisters and start a friendship. The movie follows these characters' lives as they interact, live their everyday lives and plan a class trip to Italy.
