“Supergirl” is a film that explains how niece of Superman, Kara-Zor El (Helen Slater) belonged to a colony of Kryptonians who survived the destruction of the planet Krypton. When her friend Zaltar (Peter O'Toole) allows her to play with the matter creating Omegahedron an accident happens and the Omegahedron is whisked out into the depths of space and is lost. Now without the power to sustain their city, the last remaining Kryptonians will surely die. Kara leaves the city to search for the sphere only to find it its landed on Earth. A planet that the yellow sun that shines down upon it grants her superhuman powers and allows Kara to take up mantle of Supergirl. However the Omegahedron has fallen into the hands of the dark sorceress, Selena (Faye Dunaway) and Selena possesses the one thing that renders Supergirl weak other than Kryptonite and that is magic. Now it’s a battle of wits not strength to win back the Omegahedron and save her dying people.
