At a private, all boy prep-school, the students including shy young Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke) and his roommate Neil Perry (Robert Sean Leonard) work hard and feel content with their quiet, ordinary lives. But when new English teacher John Keating (Robin Williams) joins the faculty, everything changes for them. Encouraging the boys to immerse themselves in the famous verse of great poets, Keating convinces the boys to “seize the day” and shows them that their lives can be extraordinary. Soon the boys learn that it is their hearts, and not their minds, that will lead them to true happiness, however rocky the path may be.
