Plot

A nostalgic look at a well-known railway route during the period 1948-1966 when an intensive steam-worked service was provided for the holiday market and there were frequent boat trains passing by on their way to Holyhead. The book describes the intensive train services and excursions operated to popular holiday destinations such as Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. The signalling system and method of operation that enabled so many trains to be run each day is also explained.
