The X-Men fight on after the death of a mutant, and continue to work to put the Sentinel down. They eventually do, but the nature of the attack reveals how high up the government ladder the conspiracy goes. The X-Men retreat to the mansion with the new mutants to cope with recent events, while Nick Fury deals with the immediate threat.
