The heroes have banded together to face the Red Skull with the Cosmic Cube, and are having a very difficult time. The Skull's power is absolute, preventing them from approaching closely enough to defend the world against him. Their only hope is from some sort of outside sentience, but even then, they run the risk of rewriting history.
