Tangent Comics: Nightwing - Night Force

The Doom Patrol seeks a friend of Star Sapphire for protection. In Prague, agents of Nightwing discover them but are destroyed by Jade and Obsidian, agents of competitor Meridian. Nightwing director Moore (Deadman) sends his mystical agents, Nightforce, to find the Doom Patrol. Moore has a plan to use Night Force without them realizing they are working for Nightwing. In Moscow, the Doom Patrol and Meridian meet Stalin, now a vampire. He offers them asylum, but Doomsday does not trust him. When the team attacks him he overcomes them by seizing Firehawk and using her to force the Doom Patrol to submit. Night Force reaches Moscow. Their contacts are Jade and Obsidian, who say they have left Meridian. They tell of Stalin's plan to feed a monster called KGBeast the souls of the Doom Patrol. Night Force, Jade and Obsidian attempt to thwart the soul extraction and battle KGBeast. Black Orchid tries to drag the Doom Patrol's souls back to earth but this process fuses them into a new entity called Ultra-Humanite, also creating an EMP. Ultra-Humanite claims the Earth. Hex believes humanity is doomed, but Black Orchid believes they can undo this.
