In eastern Pennsylvania, a pair of hippies discover mushrooms, the product of Swamp Thing's passage. One of them eats a mushroom and his horrified friend watches as he disintegrates from the deadly toxins it contains! Swamp Thing does not know where he is, only that he must get home. Lady Jane approaches Abby, clearly intent on revealing that Swamp Thing duplicated himself, when the copy hands Abby a bouquet of anniversary flowers, delighting her! Swamp Thing seems Constantine... or does he? More hallucinations? Constance Sunderland pressures Doctor Polygon for results in his project to recall her father from death and he promises he is making progress. In Kentucky, Swamp Thing sees Tefé menaced by a bear and kills it, hoisting his daughter... no, it is another child, and the bear wasn't a bear but the family dog! In Houma, the copy and Abby have sex. Near the Tennessee border Swamp Thing hallucinates that Arcane is menacing him, but his real problem is a semi trailer! And in Metarie, Louisiana, Ben Barron hears from Child Protective Services, whose rep sends him photos of Abby and Tefé. And in Tennessee, Swamp Thing is disintegrating and needs help. Who are the strangely-eyed people who gaze down at him, and are the friends or enemies?
