Swamp Thing, altered by the Folk's cure, battles a doppleganger he created that now believes it is Abby's rightful husband and Tefé's father! In Houma, Ben Barron contacts the police; he has come to remove Tefé from her Abby's custody, a task Officer Rawls regards as crazy. The elemental battle echoes through the Green, creating vegetative havoc all over. Finally Lady Jane tells him the duplicate is part of him. Lester Boudreaux, whose complaint about Abby started the Child Protective Services investigation, dies when his lettuce explodes into new growth inside his body! Abby watches in horror as Swamp Thing absorbs the duplicate, whose plea to her not to let go does not matter. She slaps Swamp Thing, profoundly upset, and storms off. Where she meets Rawls and Barron. Their agent from Child Protective Services did not complete the trip, another victim of the raging Green. But they have the court order...
