Destroyer of Worlds, Part 4: Out from the Ruins
| Release: | Nov 15, 2000 |

Hal Jordan is confronted with ultimate failure: the world is dead and he can do nothing to bring it back. He sees Zauriel, the angelic member of the Justice League, who tells him that all he can do is to surrender. He is then confronted by Caul, who had intended to die along with everyone else, but changed his mind. The two of them fight, and Caul kills Jordan, but he had forgotten that Jordan was already dead. Fired with the hunger for vengeance, Hal prepares to punish Caul, but at the last minute he relents and surrenders to the almighty, in recognition of the fact that the soul he most wants to punish is himself. As he surrenders, an army of angels appears and unleashes a cleansing fire which brings the Earth and everything in it back to life.
Caul abandons himself to this cleansing fire, and Jordan touches, but forsakes, the power to remake things in a different, and perhaps better way. He is then visited by Zauriel who tells him that "the Presence is pleased".
Elsewhere, Jack and Helen Jordan realize that the man they met in a park recently was in fact Hal, a relative they thought was dead.
