Scully and Mulder continue their investigation into the Brown Mountain lights and the disappearance of a team of scientists researching them. Mulder is convinced that the Brown Mountain lights are the cause of the disappearances and sets up a test to prove his theory. Local law enforcement interferes however, determined to eliminate any threat to the local community, be it extraterrestrial or otherwise.
