Astro City: The Dark Age - Book One

1973 wears on, and Charles and Royal Williams still aren't talking. But much of the nation is talking about the impending execution of the Silver Agent. But much of what people say sounds as though they're trying to convince themselves that it must be done.

While incarcerated, the Agent disappeared from his cell for a period of six minutes before reappearing in his uniform. The mystery of that disappearance is finally explained when Madame Majestrix attacks Astro City, and all of North America, blaming them for turning her son Rex against her. The Silver Agent appears, several minutes after his execution, to broker a peace with her.

And in the chaos of Majestrix' attack, the Blue Knight resurfaces, once more with his sights on Royal Williams.
