The Circle of Thorns has the three people they need to summon a powerful demon into this world. The Freedom Phalanx anxiously searches Paragon City for their hideout so they can try to interrupt the ritual. When they do find it, a mage from the Circle casts a spell that causes each of the members of the Phalanx to face their own fears and nightmares. While they struggle to free themselves from their own nightmares, one of the captives (a former hero named Breakneck) fights to free himself
