Manhattan, the Cube, and the Fantastic Four are kidnapped and taken to Pyx. They hold off Thanos' army for a while, but Thanos eventually steps forward to challenge Reed to a contest of wills for the Cube. Reed agrees, not taking into account that Thanos has had experience with this cube and others like it before.
