Tony Stark has regrown most of the body parts lost at the end of "Ultimate Iron Man #5." The public thinks the Iron Man is a giant robot, and don't realize it had a human pilot. The government comes to recruit him for help, wishing to use the robot for a clandestine attack on a terrorist cell. Stark agrees, and Rhodey tags along, both playing the part of robots. They find themselves in a difficult situation over there, while Howard Stark's situation back home isn't getting any better.
